Ludwigsburg porcelain

Ludwigsburg offers a special attraction for porcelain enthusiasts: it hosts Baden-Württemberg's only porcelain manufactory. It is located in the Palace of Ludwigsburg. Established in 1758 by Duke Carl Eugen of Württemberg, it is still one of the most important European porcelain manufactories. Porcelain connoisseurs fom all over the world appreciate the precious pieces from the Ludwigsburg porcelain manufactory which has dedicated itself to preserve tradtional working methods. The forms and decors of the baroque and rococo epochs like the famous and unique "Ludwigsburg Scale Design" are cultivated and still produced. Simultaneously, modern forms and decors are being created in the manufactory's atelier. They are also produced in traditional handicraft. Every single item of Ludwigsburg porcelain is still designed, embossed and assembled by hand. The decors are applied in free-hand painting without the use of any stencils. That is why every piece is unique.
