Jevpatorija

Today, the health spa Jevpatorija, which is situated on the banks of the Crimea, is part of the Ukraine although 60% of the population are Russian. During the Soviet Union era Jevpatorija was a popular health spa, particularly for children, thanks to its mud baths and its hot mineral springs. Nowadays over 100 sanatoriums are opened for the normal tourism business.
Jevpatorija was built on a Greek settlement part of which, e.g. the Russian orthodox Nikolai church and the Dschuma-Dschami mosque, are the town's most important tourist attractions. Well-tended beaches, plenty of sunshine, the proximity to Yalta and Sevastopol make Jevpatorija an attractive holiday town.
