    Prerequisite

Your waste is classified as bulky waste.

You can find out which items you are permitted to dispose of as bulky waste in your city or district by contacting your local waste management authority.

    Examples of bulky waste:

    • Beds, mattresses, upholstered furniture
    • Furniture components, tables, chairs
    • Mirrors, suitcases, carpets
    • Garden furniture

Please note: Waste from renovations or building work, such as old tiles or sanitary ware, does not count as bulky waste. You must dispose of these separately as construction waste.

Please note: Wallpaper scraps must be disposed of as general waste.

    Procedure

Check with your local council or district authority to find out which items you are allowed to dispose of as bulky waste.

Tip: Some local authorities and city or district councils have recycling centres or landfill sites. You can take your bulky waste there yourself at a low cost.

Cities and districts publish waste collection calendars. These list collection dates and provide further information on bulky waste and other types of waste. In most cities and districts, bulky waste is collected on request. Please ensure you only put out permitted items for collection.
