Notification of temporary operation of a restaurant Acceptance
Do you want to work in the catering trade temporarily or as a travelling trader for a special reason? Then you must notify the competent authority.
Responsible authority
The municipality in whose area you wish to temporarily operate as a catering business is responsible for accepting your notification.
Details
Prerequisite
In Baden-Württemberg, the operation of a temporary catering business is only possible for special reasons. A special occasion exists if the catering activity is linked to a short-term, infrequently occurring event that lies outside the catering activity itself. A special occasion can be, for example, a town festival or a Christmas market. A weekly market, on the other hand, which takes place regularly and is therefore a frequent event, is not a special occasion.
The notification requirement for temporary catering businesses only applies to clubs if they offer alcoholic beverages.
Procedure
You must register your planned temporary catering business with the responsible municipality and provide the following information:
- Your name
- A summonable address
- Place and time of the special occasion
- Description of the catering offer, operating hours and location
Deadlines
The notification must generally be made two weeks before the temporary catering operation. If you wish to operate earlier than two weeks after the notification, please contact the responsible municipality. They may grant exceptions to the two-week deadline.
